The Photo

Great little river Curak in Gorski Kotar (Croatia) inspired me to plan a trip to make some photos in this great part of the year.
In Gorski Kotar it is still possible to see wolves, brown bear, wild boar and lynx roaming freely. The woodlands are alive with sounds of a wide diversity of birds. The evergreen and deciduous forests are lush with a treasure trove of plant life. I had luck because it was raining just enough to bring the vibrance out of the vegetation and not hard enough to bounce of the ground to soak my lens and filter. Thanks to my girlfriend holding umbrella and following every step of mine I managed to stay dry... that must be love

I wanted to get as much of the details as possible to transfer the complete atmosphere into the photo and than was afraid if it will look a bit messy with all of it in the composition. But I think I did well. I metered for the foreground and used 0.6 hard grad to hold back the light in the upper left corner of the image. Didn't want longer exposure here 'cause i wanted to keep some of the texture in the rushing water visible.
